Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) User Guide
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) User Guide
What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enhances security by requiring two forms of verification to access your account, ensuring that even if someone has your password, they cannot log in without additional authentication.
This process involves:
- Something you know – Your password
- Something you have – A verification code from your phone
Enabling 2FA adds an extra layer of protection to your account. In this instance, Microsoft Authenticator will be used to generate secure login codes.
How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA):
Once 2FA has been activated on your profile, you will need to do the following steps:
Download Microsoft Authenticator:
- Install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Set Up Microsoft Authenticator:
- Open the app on your mobile device and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup.
Log in to the eftsure Portal:
- On your laptop/computer, go to the eftsure portal.
- Enter your username and password, then click Login.
Scan the QR Code:
- A QR Code will appear on your computer screen after logging in.
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device and click the ‘+’ sign in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select the option to Scan a QR Code.
Link Your Account:
- Use your phone to scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen.
- The eftsure account will be linked in the Microsoft Authenticator app, and it will begin displaying a 6-digit code.
Enter the 6-Digit Code:
- On your computer, enter the 6-digit code from the authenticator app into the required field, then click Login.
Setup Complete:
- Your Microsoft Authenticator is now linked to your eftsure account.
- You are successfully logged in.
Using 2FA for Future Logins:
Each time you log in to eftsure:
- Enter your username and password, and click Login.
- The next screen will prompt you to enter a One-Time Password (OTP).
Retrieve the OTP:
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device.
- The app will display a new 6-digit code for your account.
Enter the OTP Code:
- Type the 6-digit code from the app into the eftsure portal.
- You are now logged in securely.
Note: You will need to open the Microsoft Authenticator app and enter a new 6-digit code each time you log in to eftsure.
By following these steps, you’ll ensure that your eftsure account remains secure through Two-Factor Authentication. If you experience any issues during setup, please reach out to our support team for assistance.
