Self-Certifying an Entity

Self-Certifying an Entity

Self-Certifying an Entity

Overview

The Self-Certify Entity option allows users with the Entity Self-Certification right to certify an unverified entity record. Due to the potential risks involved, this process should be approached carefully and requires approval from at least two internal users with self-certification rights.

Steps to Self-Certify an Entity

  1. Locate the Entity Record

    • Navigate to the relevant entity record that you want to self-certify. Click the "Actions" button.

  2. Click the Certify Button

    • Once in the entity profile, click the Certify button to start the self-certification process.

  3. Provide a Reason for Certification

    • You’ll be prompted to enter a reason for self-certifying the entity in the Comments section.
    • Be specific and clear, as this justification will be reviewed by the approvers.

  4. Submit for Approval

    • After entering the reason, click "Certify".

    • Note that at least two internal users with self-certification rights must review and approve the record.
    • The second approver will be notified that they need to certify this record. They can also view the record by going to the Insights Tab and then click on the Pending Self-Certification link. They will then be redirected to the entities section, with the records awaiting self-certification filtered.
  5. Approval Process

    • The second certifier will then follow the same process as the first approver and click Self-Certify.
    • Once both users have certified the entity, the status will be updated.
  6. Verification Status

    • After the record has been approved by both approvers, the entity will be marked with a green sideways thumb and the verification status will now show as Self-Certified.

Important Notes

  • Self-certifying an entity bypasses the usual external verification process, so use this feature with caution.
  • Ensure you are confident in the accuracy of the information before certifying, as this action carries a level of risk.
